Workout Tips for Loosing Belly Fat

Workout Tips for Loosing Belly Fat

It seems as though the older you get, the bigger your belly gets as well. We all want to loose those love handles, and keep them off. Here’s some workout tips for loosing belly fat.

Tip #1 – Don’t Stop Moving: The fat around your belly is called visceral fat, and one thing about visceral fat is that it reacts well to aerobic exercise. Getting in some Cardio a couple of times per week – for example, jogging on a treadmill 12 miles over the course of a week – is a great place to start loosing belly fat.

Tip #2 – Add Crunches to Your Workout: Tightening up; your midsection with crunches not only strengthens your midsection while also burning fat. Just lie down flat, with your knees bent and feet on the ground. Place your hands behind your head, inhale deeply, and as you left your upper torso, exhale. Inhale as you come back down, and if you’re just starting out with crunches, do 3 sets of 10.

Tip #3 – Do Your Exercises in Short, But Intense Bursts: Rather than grinding away for hours slowly, doing short bursts of active exercises is more effective when it comes to burning off belly fat. For example, let’s say you’re using a rowing machine. Randomly increase your rowing speed for a few seconds a couple of times during your workout helps to burn fat.

Diet is an important component to loosing fat around your midsection as well. Reducing sodium intake, cutting out sugar and alcohol where possible, drinking plenty of water, and including healthy fats are important, as well as getting proper sleep and avoiding a sedentary lifestyle.

Finally, it’s far easier and convenient to workout at home – the more regular your workouts are, the faster you’ll get that trim belly you’ve been hoping for.
