Unrefined, whole foods require your body to work harder than it would for processed foods. And, the harder your body works, the more fat it burns! Try these foods to maximize your fat buring while fueling your muscles for your next workout!

Salmon

Research is suggesting that the omega-3s in salmon and other fatty fish help build muscle. And the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn. Omega-3s may also help reduce fat storage by lowering cortisol levels (scientists have yet to confirm how).

Yogurt

Calcium rich foods are also a great metabolism boosting way to burn fat. And, yogurt has almost 50% more calcium than milk! Plus, probiotics in yogurt also help keep belly fat under control.

Avocado

Avocado’s unique combo of essential fatty acids, monounsaturated fats, and antioxidants helps burn fat, keep inflammation in check, and keep blood vessels clear. Plus, one avocado’s 14 grams of fiber kicks up your calorie burn.

Beans

Beans are high in fiber and resistant starch – which means your body has to work extra hard to break them down. Research from the University of Colorado suggests that foods high in resistant starch can increase your calorie buring power by up to 24% over processed foods.

Coffee

The caffeine in one cup of joe temporarily perks up your metabolism by as much as 15 percent. Caffeine also helps mobilize the forces that burn stored fat.
