Ideas for the Perfect Home Gym

Ideas for the Perfect Home GymIf you’re tired of going to your local gym, and you’ve contemplated putting together a gym in your home, it’s not as difficult as it might first seem! All you need is a little bit of space. Whether you use extra space in an existing room, or an unused room elsewhere in your home, it doesn’t take much effort to put together your perfect home gym!

First, you need to decide what type of home gym equipment you are looking for. If you’re looking to add a home treadmill to your home, but your space is limited, we offer a folding treadmill like the Spirit XT285 Treadmill. Or you might want to consider a spin bike like the Precor Spinner® Ride Indoor Cycle. On the other hand, if you’re looking to do strength training, you might want to take a look at the TuffStuff SPT-6B Six-Pak Trainer. In each of these cases, you’re able to get a full workout without taking up a lot of room.

Here’s some ideas of where you might want to look at in your home for space for your home gym.

Attic

If your home has a finished attic, but you’ve not been sure what the best use for that space would be, you might want to consider placing your home gym here. A major advantage is that your equipment is out of the way, and you’ll have privacy for your workout.

Spare bedroom

Maybe one of your kids is now off to college, or you have a spare bedroom that ends up acting as storage space. Clear out any unnecessary stuff you don’t need – and if you take your extra stuff to a consignment shop or sell it on eBay – you can also help fund your new gym equipment!

Two-car garage

Although garage space in Arizona can get pretty warm during the summer, you can get insulation for your garage door, or full width screens to screen off your garage – add a fan or a portable air conditioner, and you have a perfect workout space in your garage! Plus you can get rubberized gym flooring to help keep noise down – while also providing privacy.

Hallway

If you don’t have extra space for a workout room, you might want to consider the end of a rarely used hallway. For example, you could place your stationary bike or rower in front of that closet you never use, add a mirror on the wall, and move it into a closet when you’re done.
