Protein Apple-Cinnamon Bars

If you’re needing a quick snack, but also want to stay on your diet, picking up energy or protein bars from the store are a great resource. Unfortunately, not only do they get expensive, you’re also stuck with fillers and chemicals that may not enhance your overall health. We have a solution – try these Protein Apple-Cinnamon Bars. Healthy, much less expensive than pre-manufactured bars – and they taste great!

  • 3 Apples
  • 2 oz Protein Powder
  • 12oz Greek Yogurt (Fage 0%)
  • 3 Eggs
  • Cinnamon

You’ll want to use casein protein powder. You can also use whey protein powder, but if so,  stick with whey concentrate or a protein blend rather than an isolate. Whey isolate has a higher protein content and so it will have a tendency to become dry/or even rubbery.

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

Pre-heat the oven to 350°. Next, peel and cut the apples into small cubes. Mix together the apples and the cinnamon. Heat up a pan over medium heat, add the apples and cook for a few minutes

Add all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl, and mix them until well blended. Place baking paper in a baking dish so that it also covers the sides. Add the mixture to the baking dish. Bake for 40 minutes at 360 degrees. Cut into 10 bars. Refrigerate for up to 3 days.
