Here’s a healthy recipe for a great snack or desert idea, thanks to Men’s Health. Rather than getting behind with your diet, try this peanut butter protein snack!
This recipe is packed with casein, a protein found in dairy products, which contains chemicals called casomorphins that can help you relax and sleep. And, that protein also helps you build muscle while your resting & sleeping, as a recent Dutch study found that drinking a casein shake before bed increased protein synthesis throughout the night.
Here’s the great part. It tastes like a peanut butter cup. And, you don’t taste the cottage cheese – you won’t taste it, but it does smooth out the mix once blended.
Protein-Packed Peanut Butter Dessert – Ingredients
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1/2 scoop chocolate casein protein powder
- 1 Tbsp natural peanut butter
- 1 Tbsp PB2
- 2 tsp splenda (optional)
