LPHS Horizontal Leg Press/ Hack Squat
Build serious lower-body strength with the Legion Centurion Series LPHS Horizontal Leg Press / Hack Squat. This 2-in-1, plate-loaded machine lets you switch from a seated horizontal leg press to a prone hack squat in seconds—just drop the back pad and go. Dual high/low footplates help you target quads, glutes, hamstrings, and calves from multiple angles, while the direct cable linkage delivers smooth, precise resistance. Max load: 800LB with a 1:1 ratio. Compact, powerful, and built for years of heavy training.
Elevate your leg day with premium, commercial-grade engineering. The LPHS uses a heavy-duty 11-gauge steel chassis, oversized non-slip footplates, and a long, ultra-smooth carriage travel to keep reps stable from warm-ups to max sets. The adjustable back pad and shoulder pads support proper joint alignment in both movements, while integrated safety stops let you train heavy without a spotter.
Plate-loaded horns accept Olympic weight plates for quick progression, and the compact footprint makes this leg press / hack squat machine ideal for high-end home gyms, garage gyms, and training studios. Program deep quad-focused presses, glute-dominant hack squats, unilateral work, and even seated calf raises—all on one low-maintenance platform built to last.
Proper Footplate Use & Range of Motion
The LPHS is engineered with two footplates, each designed for a specific movement pattern to optimize biomechanics and full range of motion.
Lower Footplate (Seated Leg Press Position)
Designed for use in the seated horizontal leg press position. This plate allows for a natural pressing angle with full depth and extension, making it ideal for quad, glute, and hamstring development across a complete range of motion.
Upper Footplate (Prone Hack Squat Position)
Designed for use in the prone hack squat position. The elevated position aligns the body properly for hack squats, supporting controlled descent and strong drive through the quads and glutes while maintaining joint-friendly mechanics.
Additional (Advanced/Optional Use)
The lower footplate can also be used from the prone position for knees-over-toes presses and calf raises, adding even more versatility to the machine. However, these movements are outside of the primary intended use of that plate.
When used in this manner—from the prone position—taller users (generally over 6'1") may experience some range of motion limitations. When each footplate is used in its intended position, the machine provides full, effective range across a wide range of user heights.
